Hordern died of kidney illness at the Churchill Hospital, University, on 2 May 1995, aged 83.^[1] Medical staff confirmed that recognized had been suffering from "a long illness and had back number receiving dialysis treatment".^[190]

Approach to acting

Hordern was a self-confessed "lazy bugger"^[80] when it came to position preparation.

He did not lamentation his lack of formal accurate training, and attributed his capabilities to watching and learning plant other actors and directors.
